This Privacy Policy explains how Enki Studios LLC ("Enki Studios", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use AskCupid, including the AskCupid app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, the website at askcupidai.com and its free tools (together, the "Service").
AskCupid is an AI dating coach for adults. It is not a therapy, counseling, medical or emergency service.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Service.
Enki Studios LLC is the company responsible for your personal information (the "controller").
The app keeps your onboarding answers on your device until you create an account, and keeps a copy of photos you've viewed on your device to load them faster. Our website keeps your onboarding answers in your browser until you create an account.
The AskCupid app doesn't use advertising or tracking tools, doesn't access your advertising identifier, contacts, location or calendar, and doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
We use personal information to:
We don't sell your personal information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use your chats, photos or other content to train AI models.
To answer you, we send the content needed for your request to third-party AI model providers: your messages, the screenshots and photos you attach, tool inputs, your first name, your local time, and relevant memories and people details. We also send your account identifier so they can detect abuse; we don't send your email address. The phone numbers, social media handles and photos you save on people's profiles in AskCupid aren't sent to AI providers. The providers process this content to produce the reply or result and return it to us.
We don't create or store facial recognition templates or other biometric identifiers. When the Rank my photos tool creates a shareable card, your device detects where a face is in the image only to crop it; that step happens on your device, and nothing from it is sent to us. When Glow check or Tan check compares a new photo with an earlier one, the AI may consider whether the photos seem to show the same person, so it can tell you if the comparison makes sense. It returns only "same", "unsure" or "different" as part of your feedback, and no facial measurements or biometric data are stored.
AskCupid helps you with the people you're dating, so you may share information about them, such as their name, messages, photos, profile screenshots and notes. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to share it with us.
If you're someone a user has told us about, we usually can't tell you directly, because we only receive your information from that user and we don't have your contact details. We use it only to give that user advice, it's visible only to them, and it's deleted when they delete it or their account. You can still exercise your privacy rights by emailing us. To help us find the information, tell us your name and anything that would identify the user who shared it.

We require these providers to protect your information in a way that's consistent with this Privacy Policy and to use it only to provide their services to us.
Apple and Google, when you use Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, in-app purchases or speech-to-text. Their own privacy policies apply to those services.
When you choose to share. For example, if you share a result card, it goes wherever you send it.
Legal and safety reasons. If we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or Enki Studios, including to enforce our Terms and prevent fraud.
Business transfers. If Enki Studios is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. We'll tell you if that happens and if your choices change.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We don't use advertising cookies. The iOS app doesn't use cookies for tracking.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of, but we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing. Our website doesn't respond differently to Do Not Track signals. Google, through Google Analytics, may collect information about your use of our website over time.
You can edit or delete people and timeline events, and delete chats, tool results and memories, at any time in the app. You can change or turn off notifications in Settings or in your device settings.
In the app, tap your profile picture to open Settings, tap your name, tap Delete Your Account, then Send Deletion Request. This prepares an email to us. You can also email us from the address on your account. We'll confirm the request comes from you, then delete your account and content within 30 days. If you have a website subscription, we'll cancel it when we delete your account. Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple account settings to stop future charges.

To make a request, email us at shri@openspeechai.com. We'll verify your identity, usually by confirming the request comes from the email on your account, and reply within the time the law requires. An authorized agent may make a request for you if they can prove they're allowed to. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision; we'll explain the outcome of your appeal and, where applicable, how to contact your state attorney general.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
We process your information:
You need to give us your account information and the content you want advice on to use the Service; without it, we can't provide the coach or tools. Everything else is optional.
We don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. AI scores, "interest" estimates and other insights are suggestions shown only to you.
In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information, from the sources and for the purposes below. We keep each category for the periods in section 9.
We collect and use this information for the business purposes in section 3, and we disclose it only to the service providers in section 6. We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we haven't done so in the past 12 months. We don't have actual knowledge of selling or sharing personal information of anyone under 16.
We use and disclose sensitive personal information only to provide the Service you ask for and for other purposes the law permits without offering a right to limit, so we don't offer a separate right to limit its use.
We'll confirm we've received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend this by up to another 45 days, and we'll tell you why.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest by our storage providers, access controls so each account can only read its own data, and short-lived links for uploading and viewing photos. No online service is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach that affects you, we'll notify you as the law requires.
We're based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions where our provider is certified.
AskCupid is only for people aged 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has used the Service, we'll delete their account and information. If you believe a minor has given us information, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes, for example when we add or change an AI provider. We'll post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we'll let you know in the app, by email or on our website before it takes effect, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
